"At first glance, High Praise are a brand new power-punk band often led by Gnarwolves’ Charlie Piper. Dig deeper, and there’s a scuzzy heaviness more vitriolic than the distinguished former sound would suggest.

Taking in discordant patches of Pixies and Jawbreaker, Another Day is a thought-out and powerful step into defiant but still self-deprecating adolescent minds. ‘Gimme’ grasps instantly on a Weezer-goes-grunge sound, but ‘Smile’ scratches away at a helplessness while branding themselves ‘subterranean down and outers’; a line which aptly coins the band’s debut EP.

Another Day is poppy, dirty, and fires up with intent. The EP’s closer, ‘No Fun’, is a hint they’re about to go to darker places – and it’s that lowly unsettling which makes High Praise a band to lose yourself in." Giles Bidder (Soho Radio, I Paper, Great Cynics & Dangers Of Love)

A friend with a reliably fine musical taste posted this album on FB and I wasn't disappointed. Love the guitar sound and the passionate vocals (melodic enough to not pass as screamo or whatever). Punk rock spirit yet with a lot of dynamics (definitely a yes to the Dischord reference) and compact songs that won't leave your head for a long time. Many many great tunes on here but for the moment USMA and Lay Low have to be my favorites! Great band, very happy to have found them! perpendikel
